Taplio review: the AI coach for LinkedIn, priced and read closely.
Taplio is a LinkedIn growth tool: AI post writing from a prompt, a viral-post library, a scheduling queue with best-time slots, analytics, an engagement feed and, on its top plan, automated lead outreach. Plans are $39, $69 and $199 a month as of 22 September 2026, LinkedIn only. The question this review answers is whether one subscription that writes, schedules, engages and prospects is worth $39 to $199 a month, and who it leaves out.
What Taplio does
Taplio describes itself as "your AI coach for LinkedIn growth" and promises to help you "find ideas, write posts that grow, and stay consistent in 10 minutes a day". The home page sets out four loops: Create, Schedule, Engage and Connect. Create is the writing side: you describe what you want to say and, in Taplio's words, its AI, "trained on 3 million+ posts", turns it into a post in your voice, with hook rewrites, story mode and a "my tone" control. Behind it sits an inspiration feed of viral posts ranked for your niche and a weekly queue of post ideas mapped to formats.
Schedule is a visual queue with best-time slots tuned to your followers, recycling of your best posts when the queue runs low, a content calendar, and publishing to a personal profile or a LinkedIn company page. Engage is a curated feed of the people worth commenting on, with AI comment starters. Connect is lead outreach: find people by title and industry, send connection requests automatically and deliver a DM when they accept. Analytics, a Chrome extension, a Zapier integration, an API and an MCP server round it out.

What Taplio costs
Three plans, as taplio.com/pricing showed them on 22 September 2026, monthly billing first and the yearly toggle (marked "-25%") beside it. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial that the FAQ says gives "full Pro access", and the page carries a 30-day money-back guarantee.
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly | What the card lists |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | Monthly$39 a month | Yearly$32 a month | What the card listsSchedule posts in seconds; track core metrics with analytics; build posting consistency. |
| Growth | Monthly$69 a month | Yearly$49 a month | What the card listsEverything in Starter, plus: write viral posts with AI; reply and comment 10x faster; collaborate with your team. |
| Pro | Monthly$199 a month | Yearly$149 a month | What the card listsEverything in Growth, plus: unlimited AI posts and comments; automate lead outreach; priority support and access. |
Two details from the pricing FAQ matter before you start a trial. You pick a plan first, and the trial runs on it; and if you forget to cancel, the refund policy says you "can always ask for a refund in the 30 days following your payment". The scheduler page says "no credit card to start".

Who Taplio is for
Taplio is for the person who wants one LinkedIn subscription to do everything and already knows what they want to say. The whole product starts from you: you type the prompt, you pick the idea from the feed, you fill the queue. If you enjoy browsing what went viral in your niche and remixing it, and you want the engagement and outreach loop beside the writing, it is the most complete tool on this list.
It fits less well if your problem is the material rather than the writing. A founder whose week is ten meetings and no notes still arrives at Taplio's composer with a blank prompt, and the viral feed answers "what is working" rather than "what happened to me". It also fits less well if your audience is on X as well as LinkedIn: Taplio's pages speak LinkedIn and nothing else.
Where Taplio beats Sonar
Three things Taplio does that Sonar does not do, or does less of, checked against Taplio's pages and Sonar's code on the same day.
The swipe file
Taplio's inspiration library is a dedicated feature: "5M+ Inspiration & viral posts" on the pricing table, "millions of viral posts, ranked by reach" on the ideas page, filterable by topic, engagement and post type, with saved-post collections and an idea queue refreshed weekly. Sonar's library is built the other way round: a pool over the people on your watchlist, a weekly keyword search of your niche, your own posts and the posts you save, plus one shared shelf swept every week from a fixed roster of thirty well-known founder-content profiles and filtered to posts clearing 200 reactions, comments and reposts combined. If browsing what went viral is how you find angles, Taplio's library is deeper.
Scheduling depth
Taplio's queue has best-time slots tuned to your followers, evergreen recycling when the queue runs low, publishing to a company page as well as your profile, dripped carousels, an auto-comment on your own post from a keyword, and Zapier. Sonar schedules to LinkedIn and X at your own morning, lets you drag a post to a new day, and publishes every fifteen minutes; it has no company page publishing, no recycling and no Zapier, and on LinkedIn the first comment is copied to your clipboard for a one-paste manual add, because the self-serve LinkedIn API tier does not allow it. On scheduling alone, Taplio does more.
Engagement and outreach
Taplio comments, replies, likes, sends connection requests and delivers DMs on your behalf, on curated feeds and lead lists, at human pace by its own description. Sonar's comment starter writes a short comment in your voice and opens the post for you to paste it; it never comments, connects or messages as you. If you want the growth loop automated, Taplio has it and Sonar does not.
Where Sonar differs
The post starts from your week
Taplio's composer opens with "describe what you want to say". Sonar opens with what already happened. It connects read-only to Google Calendar, Google Meet, Slack, Granola, Fireflies, Wispr Flow, Notion and Zoom, reads the last seven days about once a week, and keeps the moments worth saying, a decision, a win, a lesson, with the source each came from. Every week five drafts are dealt onto Home from those moments, a story you told it, a development in your niche and a pillar you chose. The raw transcript text is processed in memory and discarded.
The people rule
Private people who appear in your meetings never reach a draft. A client, a colleague or a candidate is written as a role, "a client's COO", "someone on my team", in the instructions every draft is produced under and in the miner that extracts the moments. A tool that starts from your prompt has no such problem to solve; a tool that reads your calendar has to, and this is how Sonar does.
The X room beside the LinkedIn one
Taplio speaks LinkedIn and nothing else. Sonar holds one voice across both rooms with a register for each: a LinkedIn draft gets an X sibling in X's register with one tap, a take too long for X becomes a native thread at X's own limits, and each room publishes on its own.
The Intelligence Pack behind every draft
At sign-up Sonar imports your published posts and builds an Intelligence Pack: who you are, what you stand for, your credibility and how you write. The voice is measured, sentence length, the share of sentences under eight words, paragraph length, how often you ask a question, and every draft is held to those numbers. LinkedIn cliches and AI vocabulary are banned outright, with one exception for a phrase from your own posts, and repeated edits before posting become standing voice rules you can mute. Taplio's pages describe an AI trained on three million posts with a "my tone" control; how the tone is learned is not described there, so this review claims nothing about it.

Pick Taplio if
- You know what you want to say and want the widest LinkedIn toolset around the writing: viral feed, queue, company pages, engagement, outreach.
- You want comments, connection requests and DMs sent for you, at human pace, from lists you build.
- Your audience is on LinkedIn alone and $39 to $69 a month is the budget.
Pick Sonar if
- Your week is full of meetings and the posts should come from them, with private people written as roles by rule.
- You post on LinkedIn and X and want one voice with a register for each.
- You would rather have a voice measured from your own posts and a weekly deck of five drafts than a bigger library and more credits.
The short version: Taplio is the better tool for growing on LinkedIn from ideas you bring. Sonar is the better tool for a founder who has no time to bring them. How Sonar drafts from your week shows one invented week end to end.
The short form of this section, the table and the two verdicts alone, is Sonar vs Taplio; every comparison Sonar has written is listed under all comparisons.
Taplio alternatives
Four tools founders weigh against Taplio, usually to spend less or to do without the outreach half, one line each with the price as read on 22 September 2026.
- Supergrow. AI drafting with a voice profile, an AI interviewer and voice notes, plus an employee advocacy layer for teams; $19 or $39 a month, LinkedIn only.
- MagicPost. A post generator with a writing style imported from real posts, visuals, scheduling and agency seats on LinkedIn's official API; AI drafting from $69 a month, or $39 yearly.
- AuthoredUp. An editor, preview and analytics tool for people who write their own posts, through a Chrome extension; $19.95 a month, no AI drafting outside a closed beta.
- Sonar. Writes from the week you actually had instead of from a prompt, in a voice measured from your own posts, on LinkedIn and X; $99 a month, every feature.
- The personal branding tools guide prices eleven tools, Taplio among them, on one table.
