MagicPost review: the fast generator on LinkedIn's official API.

MagicPost is an AI LinkedIn tool built on LinkedIn's official API: a post generator that writes from a topic, a link or a file in a style imported from real LinkedIn posts, a humanizer, carousels and visuals, a library of two million posts, scheduling for posts and comments, analytics, engagement and lead detection, with agency and team seats on top. AI drafting starts at $69 a month, or $39 a month billed yearly, as of 22 September 2026, LinkedIn only. The interesting part is that it runs on LinkedIn's official API, so this review says what that buys you and what the price ladder costs.

What MagicPost does

MagicPost's home page opens on its posture before its features: it calls itself "a LinkedIn-verified partner" that runs "through LinkedIn's developer program and secure OAuth login, within LinkedIn-approved limits", with no browser extension. Then the promise, "everything you need to grow on LinkedIn, in one place", in six steps: craft posts, create visuals, schedule, read the numbers, comment and reply in one place, and turn engagement into leads. The generator page says the writing part plainly: "give it a topic, a link or a file. It writes with the style imported from real LinkedIn posts and with what it knows about your audience and your offer. You have the final say in the editor."

The generator reads a topic, an article, a web page, a YouTube video, a LinkedIn post, a newsletter, a PDF, an image, or an audio or video file up to 50 MB with the audio transcribed. The writing style is imported from your own LinkedIn posts or from a creator you choose, and you can store several and switch. Four context panels, a summary of you, your audience, your offer and your story, can be filled by hand or detected from your LinkedIn data. A Humanizer runs as the post is written and again on demand, with an intensity slider from "true to your style" to "maximum anti-detection"; the page is candid that no tool can promise a text that will never be flagged. Around the generator sit visuals and carousels, a two-million post library, hook and idea generators, scheduling for posts and comments, analytics, engagement and lead detection, an MCP and an API, and a client layer for agencies with approval and white-label reports, in an interface that ships in seven languages.

What MagicPost costs

Two individual plans, an agency plan and team packs, as magicpost.in/pricing showed them on 22 September 2026. The page leads with the yearly figure and strikes the monthly one through beside it; both are given here. Every plan says "free trial, no credit card, no commitment", and the FAQ says the trial lets you generate multiple posts and test AI generation, the library, scheduling and the metrics; no trial length is printed.

Who MagicPost is for

MagicPost is for the founder who has a topic, a link or a file and wants a LinkedIn post from it now, at the lowest price of the AI drafters on this list. The free generator needs no account, the paid one imports a style from your own posts or a creator you admire, and the Humanizer is there for the founder who, in the home page's own list of pains, does not "want to sound like Claude or GPT". It is also built for the agency and the ghostwriter: client seats, approval by the client and white-label reports are on the pricing page.

It fits less well if you want the material found for you: everything it reads is something you hand it, and nothing watches your calendar or your meetings. It is also LinkedIn only, by its own line, so a founder on X needs a second tool.

Where MagicPost beats Sonar

Three things MagicPost does better than Sonar, checked against MagicPost's pages and Sonar's code on the same day.

The price

Creator, the plan with unlimited generation, visuals, carousels and the library, is $69 a month or $39 a month billed yearly. Sonar is $99 a month or $990 a year. On the yearly cycle MagicPost's AI drafting costs less than half of Sonar's, and a founder who writes by hand and wants only scheduling, metrics and engagement pays $29 a month yearly on Growth. Agencies pay per client seat at $47 to $59 with admin seats free; Sonar has no seat price, one workspace per founder, and pricing for several is a conversation. If the budget is the deciding line, MagicPost is under it.

Time to the first post

MagicPost's free generator writes a post from a topic with no account, three a day; the paid one takes a topic, a link or a file, a YouTube video or an audio recording included, and returns a draft in one generation with a style already imported from your posts, and the pricing page says members "schedule in 2 clicks". Sonar asks more up front: it imports your published posts and builds an Intelligence Pack before the first draft, and its best material arrives once a calendar or a meeting tool is connected and a week has passed. From a standing start to a publishable post, MagicPost is quicker.

Any writer's style, kept

MagicPost lets you import a creator's writing style as well as your own, store several and switch the active one, and its four context panels can be detected from your LinkedIn data. Sonar can borrow a watched writer's technique for one post from the post drawer, and its craft library blends technique into your voice with an influence that decays toward your own; it keeps no second style, because permanent impersonation of a named person is out of its scope by design. If you want a switchable second style, MagicPost has built it and Sonar has chosen not to.

Where Sonar differs

The post starts from your week

Everything MagicPost reads is something you hand it. Sonar reads the week you already had. It connects read-only to Google Calendar, Google Meet, Slack, Granola, Fireflies, Wispr Flow, Notion and Zoom, reads the last seven days about once a week, and keeps the moments worth saying with the source each came from. Every week five drafts are dealt onto Home from those moments, a story you told it, a development in your niche and a pillar you chose. The raw transcript text is processed in memory and discarded. MagicPost can transcribe a recording you upload; Sonar reads the transcripts your meeting tool already made, every week, with no upload.

The people rule

Once a tool reads your calendar and your transcripts it needs a rule about the people in them. Sonar's is that private people never reach a draft: a client, a colleague or a candidate is written as a role, in the instructions every draft is produced under and in the miner that extracts the moments. MagicPost reads what you upload, so its pages state no such rule.

X as well as LinkedIn

MagicPost is built exclusively for LinkedIn, in its own words. Sonar writes for both rooms from one identity, with a register for each: the X sibling of a LinkedIn draft is one tap, a take too long for X becomes a native thread, and each room publishes on its own.

The cliche ban sits before the draft

MagicPost's context is four panels and an imported style that, in its words, keeps "the tone, the rhythm and the usual length", with a Humanizer and an intensity slider. Sonar builds an Intelligence Pack from your published posts and your onboarding answers, and its voice part is numbers: sentence length, the share of sentences under eight words, paragraph length, how often you ask a question, held on every draft. LinkedIn cliches and AI vocabulary are banned outright in the instructions every draft is written under, a voice-aware lint pass catches what slips through, and repeated edits before posting become standing voice rules you can mute. Both tools take the problem seriously; Sonar puts the ban before the draft and the numbers in the profile.

  • You want a voice measured from your own posts, the cliches banned before the draft, and a weekly deck of five waiting.

The short version: MagicPost is the better tool when you have the material and want the post fast and cheap. Sonar is the better tool when the material is the hard part. How Sonar drafts from your week shows one invented week end to end.
