Personal branding tools for founders: eleven, priced today.
Eleven personal branding tools a founder actually uses, in five categories: writing and scheduling (AuthoredUp, Buffer, Kleo, Supergrow, Taplio, Typefully), the notetakers that capture your week (Fireflies, Granola), a tool that turns the week into posts (Sonar), LinkedIn's own analytics, and Canva for the visuals. Each entry says what it is for, what it costs as of 22 September 2026, who it suits and one honest limitation. No rankings.
How this list was made
A founder's personal brand on LinkedIn and X runs on a small stack: something that captures what happened in the week, something that turns it into posts, something that schedules and publishes them, somewhere to read the numbers, and a way to make the occasional visual. The eleven below cover that stack. They are grouped by category and listed alphabetically inside each group; nothing here is ranked, and one of the eleven is ours.
- Every price was read from the vendor's own pricing page on 22 September 2026 and is quoted as that page showed it, monthly billing unless the page only prices yearly. Prices move; check the link before you buy.
- Each entry carries one honest limitation, chosen as the thing a founder would most want to know before paying.
- "Who it suits" is our judgement. The vendors did not review these entries and none of them paid to be here.
The eleven, by category
Writing and scheduling
A LinkedIn editor with text styling, preview and a post library, plus content analytics and scheduling, through a browser extension and a web app.
- Price
- Individual $19.95 a month, or $16.63 a month billed yearly ($199.50 a year); Business $14.95 per profile a month for three or more profiles. Free to start, no card. (read 22 September 2026)
- Suits
- A founder who writes their own posts and wants the editor, the preview and their own numbers in one place without AI in the loop.
- Limitation
- An individual plan covers one profile connection; a second profile means the business plan, priced per profile.
Buffer
Free planA scheduler across LinkedIn, X and the other networks, with a calendar, an ideas board, an AI assistant and basic analytics.
- Price
- Free for up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel; Essentials $5 a month per channel ($60 a year); Team $10 a month per channel. 14-day free trial on paid plans. (read 22 September 2026)
- Suits
- A founder who posts to several networks and wants one calendar and one queue, with the writing done elsewhere.
- Limitation
- Priced per channel, so a LinkedIn profile, a LinkedIn Page and an X account are three; the free plan holds ten scheduled posts per channel at a time.
Kleo
No free planA LinkedIn content system: a personalised strategy, post ideas, writing styles and voice, templates and a library of post examples, with a community and onboarding calls.
- Price
- Standard $99 a month; Annual $999 a year. An additional profile for a team member or client is $49 a month. (read 22 September 2026)
- Suits
- A founder who wants a system and a community around it as much as a tool, and will spend the time the onboarding asks for.
- Limitation
- LinkedIn only, and every additional profile costs $49 a month, which adds up fast for anyone running more than one name.
Supergrow
Free trialLinkedIn writing and scheduling with a voice model (Content DNA), interview-style prompting (Postcast), post repurposing from YouTube and other sources, a carousel maker and an auto first comment.
- Price
- Starter $19 a month; Pro $39 a month; 20 percent off yearly ($16 and $31 a month). Teams $139 a month for four accounts. Every plan has a 7-day free trial. (read 22 September 2026)
- Suits
- A founder who wants AI drafting at the lower end of the price range and likes being interviewed for material more than being prompted for it.
- Limitation
- LinkedIn only, and the Starter plan caps the interview feature at two sessions; the carousel maker and unlimited interviews are Pro.
Taplio
Free trialLinkedIn writing, scheduling and analytics with AI post generation, an AI commenting tool and, at the top tier, lead outreach.
- Price
- Starter $39 a month; Growth $69 a month; Pro $199 a month. Yearly at $32, $49 and $149 a month. 7-day free trial, 30-day money-back guarantee. (read 22 September 2026)
- Suits
- A founder who wants the widest LinkedIn feature set in one subscription and is happy to feed the AI a topic and a style.
- Limitation
- LinkedIn only, and the plan with the AI writing and commenting most people want is the $69 Growth tier; the AI starts from your prompt, so the material is still yours to bring.
Typefully
Free planA writing and scheduling tool built for X and extended to LinkedIn, Threads, Bluesky and Mastodon, with a clean editor, thread tools, an API and X analytics.
- Price
- Free for 10 posts a month on one social set; Creator $99 a year, annual billing only; Business $18 a month per social set billed yearly, or $20 billed monthly (the prices render in the browser, so a plain fetch of the page shows none; Typefully's older comparison posts quote a monthly Creator price that the pricing page no longer offers). (read 22 September 2026)
- Suits
- A founder whose first platform is X and who cross-posts to LinkedIn, and who values a fast editor over AI drafting.
- Limitation
- The analytics are X only, so LinkedIn numbers still live in LinkedIn; and the Creator plan cannot be paid monthly.
Notetakers that capture the week
Fireflies
Free planA meeting notetaker that joins Zoom, Google Meet and Teams calls, transcribes them with speaker labels and writes summaries and action items.
- Price
- Free plan; Pro $18 a seat a month, or $10 billed annually; Business $29 a seat a month, or $19 billed annually; Enterprise $39 a seat a month, annual only. (read 22 September 2026)
- Suits
- A founder whose week is on Zoom or Meet and who wants every call transcribed without remembering to press record.
- Limitation
- It joins the call as a visible participant, which some clients notice and some object to; the free plan limits the AI summaries.
Granola
Free planA notetaker that captures the audio on your own device, with no bot in the call, and turns your rough notes into full meeting notes; desktop, iOS, Android and Apple Watch.
- Price
- Basic free; Business $14 per user a month; Enterprise $35 per user a month. (read 22 September 2026)
- Suits
- A founder who does not want a bot in client calls and takes a few notes of their own during meetings anyway.
- Limitation
- The free plan limits your meeting history, and the notes are summaries of the call; nothing in them is shaped like a post, so the writing still has to happen somewhere.
From your week to a post
Sonar
Free trialConnects read-only to your calendar, meeting transcripts (including Granola and Fireflies), Slack and notes, finds the moments worth saying, and drafts LinkedIn and X posts in a voice measured from your own published posts; schedules and publishes the ones you approve.
- Price
- $99 a month or $990 a year, every feature on, 7 days free. (read 22 September 2026)
- Suits
- A founder whose week is full of meetings and who wants the posts to come from what actually happened, with the names of private people kept out by rule.
- Limitation
- It is built around connected sources; with nothing connected it is a voice profile, a chat and a weekly deck of five, and its publishing covers LinkedIn and X only.
Analytics
The dashboard LinkedIn gives every member: analytics per post, combined post analytics over time, audience and follower analytics, who viewed your profile and search appearances.
- Price
- Free to every LinkedIn member. Who viewed your profile shows more to Premium members. (read 22 September 2026)
- Suits
- Every founder, before any paid tool: the impressions figure lives here and nowhere else.
- Limitation
- Your own numbers only, with no comparison to anyone else, read inside LinkedIn one page at a time; the history is only what LinkedIn keeps.
Design
Canva
Free planThe design tool for the occasional carousel, quote card or cover image, with templates, brand kits and stock assets.
- Price
- Free plan; Pro US$144 a year for one person; Business US$250 a year per person. Canva prices per country, so the page shows your local number. (read 22 September 2026)
- Suits
- A founder who makes a visual a month and wants it to look finished without a designer.
- Limitation
- The templates are the reason everyone's carousel looks like everyone else's; a brand kit on Pro helps, and a plain document often reads as more yours.

Three stacks that make sense
Nobody needs eleven tools. Three combinations cover most founders, depending on how much of the writing they want to do themselves.
- The writer's stack. AuthoredUp or Typefully to draft and schedule, LinkedIn's own analytics to read the numbers, Canva for the rare carousel. Under $20 a month, for a founder who enjoys the writing and has the hour a week it takes.
- The assisted stack. Taplio or Supergrow for AI drafting and scheduling, plus a notetaker so the meetings are captured somewhere. $40 to $70 a month, for a founder who wants help with the blank page and will feed the tool material by hand.
- The week-to-post stack. A notetaker or your calendar connected to Sonar, which reads the week, drafts in your voice and publishes to LinkedIn and X. $99 a month, for a founder whose week is full of meetings and who wants the posts to come from them without a Friday writing session. Sonar connects read-only to Granola, Fireflies and the other sources on the integrations page; the pricing is one plan.
Whichever stack, the plan underneath is the same four decisions; the LinkedIn content strategy guide sets them out, and LinkedIn thought leadership is what the posts become once you take a side.
