About once a week Sonar reads your last seven days of meeting notes, keeps the moments worth saying, and drafts LinkedIn and X posts in your voice from them. Nothing publishes without your approval.
What Sonar reads
The five newest notes, the summary Granola wrote.
Granola already wrote the notes. Here is exactly what Sonar reads from them, what stays, and what never does.
Reads
- Your meeting notes from the last seven days, the five most recent.
- From each note, the summary Granola wrote: the title, the day, and up to 2,500 characters of the summary text.
- Through one of two doors: Granola's own consent screen, one click, or an API key you create in the Granola app and paste into Sonar.
- With a pasted key and the spoken-voice opt-in, one more thing: the transcript lines Granola attributes to you, and only those.
Does not read
- Anything older than seven days, or beyond the five most recent notes.
- Other people's lines in a transcript. They are dropped before any model sees the text, and the one-click door reads notes alone; it has no transcript access at all.
- It never creates, changes or deletes a note. Read-only, both doors.
- Your other tools. Granola is one row; every source in Sonar is its own switch.
Keeps
- The moments it mined: a title, an angle, one line of detail, and the note title they came from.
- A receipt of the read on the row in Connected sources: with a key, how many notes and their titles; with one click, how many moments.
- The connection itself: a refresh token for a one-click connection, or the key you pasted, so next week's read runs without asking again.
Never keeps
- The note text. The week's notes are assembled into one transient block, mined in a single pass, and discarded.
- The transcript. Your own lines, when read at all, are distilled into notes about how you speak, and the lines themselves go with the pass.
- Any moment past the retention you set, if you set one: 30 days, 90 days or a year.
From a note to a post
The note has the outcome. The post needs the angle.
A meeting note already says what was decided. Sonar keeps the decision, finds the angle, and writes the opening. An invented note, run the way yours would be.

A title, an angle, one line of detail, and the note it came from. That is all Sonar stores. The note text is discarded after the pass.

The freshest moments are dealt into your weekly deck as drafts in your voice, and every moment is one tap from a draft on Home. Keep one and it lands on your board.
Invented for this page. Look at what is not in it: the two candidates' names, or anyone else's. The note title stays in Sonar as provenance for your eyes only; the moment and the post say "the person we needed". That is the people rule, and it holds for every source, not only this one.

Open Connected sources
Sign in at app.meetsonar.co and open Settings, Connected sources. On your first day the Connect your week row on Home opens the same list.

Approve on Granola's consent screen
Flip the Granola switch and Granola's own consent screen opens. Approve, and you land back in Sonar. There is no key to find: Sonar registers itself with Granola for your connection alone.

Or paste a key instead
Prefer a key? Under the switch, choose "Prefer an API key? Paste one instead". Create the key in the Granola app under Settings, API keys (Business plan and up); it starts with grn_. Sonar checks it against Granola before storing it.

Let the first read run
The first read starts as soon as you are connected. Moments appear on Home shortly after, and the row's receipt shows what was read.

Teach your spoken register, if you want to
With a pasted key, Settings, Voice can also learn how you talk from the transcript lines Granola attributes to you. Off by default; the switch names every source it would read.

Run it yourself any time
About once a week is the cadence. The Sync all button at the top of Connected sources runs every connected source now.
Turning it off is the same switch. A one-click connection is revoked with Granola and deleted; a pasted key is deleted from Sonar, and you can delete it in Granola too. Moments already mined stay yours to keep or delete in Settings, Intelligence, Moments. Granola records the meeting; if your calendar is where the week starts, Google Calendar is the lighter first connection, and Fireflies is the transcript-first sibling.
