Using Sonar with Zoom

What the integration does

Sonar turns your working week into content for LinkedIn and X. When you connect Zoom, Sonar reads the transcripts of your own cloud recordings, once a week and read only, and surfaces the moments worth writing about: decisions, wins, lessons, and stories. Those moments appear inside Sonar as fuel for your posts, alongside the same signals from your calendar and other connected sources.

Sonar downloads only each recording's transcript file. Video and audio are never downloaded. Transcript text is processed transiently and discarded after a short extraction pass; what is stored is a handful of brief derived moments, encrypted at rest and visible only to your workspace.

Requirements

• A Sonar account (create one at app.meetsonar.co).
• A paid Zoom plan with cloud recording available.
• Audio transcripts enabled in Zoom: zoom.us > Settings > Recording > turn on Cloud recording and, under its options, Audio transcript.

Adding the integration

1. Sign in at app.meetsonar.co and open Settings.
2. Scroll to Connected sources and flip the Zoom switch on.
3. A Zoom window opens asking you to authorize Sonar. Review the requested permissions (read access to your own cloud recordings and their transcript files) and choose Allow.
4. You land back in Sonar and the first sync starts on its own. If you have transcripts from the last 7 days, moments appear on your Sonar home shortly after.

Using the integration

There is nothing to operate day to day. Sonar checks for new transcripts about once a week and after you connect. You can trigger a pull yourself with the Sync all button at the top of Connected sources. Each sync reads up to your five most recent recordings from the last 7 days; the row's report shows what was read and how many moments were kept. Moments surface on your Sonar home and inside the chat as material for drafts, in your voice.

Removing the integration

In Sonar: Settings > Connected sources > flip the Zoom switch off.

This immediately deletes the stored Zoom tokens. Sonar keeps no ability to read anything from your Zoom account from that point on. Moments already extracted stay in your workspace, since they are yours to keep or drop: delete any or all of them in Settings > Intelligence > Moments, or with your account.

You can also remove Sonar from the Zoom side: sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace, open Manage > Added Apps, find Sonar, and choose Remove. Zoom revokes Sonar's access and notifies Sonar, and Sonar then deletes what it holds from Zoom: the stored tokens, the sync receipt, and every moment that was derived from your Zoom transcripts. That is the erase path; the in-app switch is the gentler one.

Data handling, in one paragraph

OAuth tokens are stored server side only, encrypted at rest, never exposed to the browser. Transcript text is never stored. Only brief derived moments are kept, scoped to your workspace. Full details are in our privacy policy; the terms of service cover the account itself.
